Chairman’s Message
Janab Shaik Abdul Aziz Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board
Shaik Abdul Aziz was unanimously elected Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board in December 2024. He previously served as Mayor of Nellore and has experience in public administration, civic leadership and community affairs.
His principal areas of focus include protection of Waqf properties, digitisation of institutional records, prevention of encroachments, transparent administration, development of Waqf assets and expansion of education and skill-development programmes.
Waqf properties represent a permanent trust dedicated to religious, educational, charitable and welfare purposes. Our responsibility is to protect these assets, strengthen institutional administration and ensure that their benefits reach the intended institutions and beneficiaries.
The Andhra Pradesh State Waqf Board is committed to improving transparency, accountability, record management and public access to Board services. We seek the cooperation of Mutawallis, managing committees, government departments and citizens in protecting and developing Waqf institutions and properties across the State.
Education and skill development remain important priorities of the Board. Through initiatives such as Taleem-e-Hunar, we aim to create meaningful educational and employment opportunities for deserving students.
